Clear vision of clean waterKeppel Corporation played host to Mr Alberto Bresciano, Director of Agency of Investment Planning, Water Resources, from the Federal Government of Argentina and Mr Abel Fatala, a member of the Board of Directors for Agua y Saneamientos Argentinos (AySA) recently. AySA provides water and wastewater services to Buenos Aires city which has 8 million citizens.
The two gentlemen were no stranger to Keppel’s environmental business. Keppel Seghers has a track record of about 20 water projects in Argentina. Besides Keppel Corporation, they also visited Keppel Seghers’ Ulu Pandan NEWater Plant to gain an insight of Keppel’s capabilities for large-scale wastewater treatment and reuse.

In 2006, Keppel Seghers was awarded two contracts for its proprietary UNITANK™ water treatment technology package. The first was awarded by Lomas de Zamora City. It has a population of 118,600 and is located 16km southwest of Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina. Capable of treating 10 million litres of wastewater a day, this is the third municipal wastewater treatment plant in Argentina.
The second contract was awarded by Zumos Argentinos S. A., a subsidiary of the German Steinhauser Group, a leader in food and vegetable juices and concentrates. Keppel Seghers provided engineering, turnkey electromechanical supply, mounting and startup for wastewater treatment.
