Dr Lee Boon Yang, Chairman of Keppel Corporation, has been conferred the title of Commander of the Order of the Crown by the Kingdom of Belgium in recognition of his contributions to economic cooperation and trade between Singapore and Belgium.

The decoration was bestowed by Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid, on behalf of His Majesty King Philippe of Belgium, during a ceremony at Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore on 27 November 2014.

“This award is a culmination of the close and fruitful ties that Keppel Corporation has forged with Belgium over the past 12 years. The synergy within Keppel Seghers, founded in Belgium and now linked to Singapore, has delivered value and benefitted many around the world,” said Dr Lee.

The ceremony was held in conjunction with the Belgium Economic Mission to Singapore, during which Dr Ong Tiong Guan, CEO of Keppel Infrastructure, hosted His Excellency Geert Bourgeois, Minister-President of Flanders, to a visit to Keppel Corporation.
